Rebecca Childs Derhak, FNP

Richmond — This September, staff of the Richmond Area Health Center are happy to welcome Rebecca Childs Derhak, FNP, to their professional healthcare team.

Childs Derhak earned her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) Family Nurse Practitioner degree from Wilkes University. Previously, she earned her Associate of Science degree in Nursing from Southern Maine Community College. Childs Derhak’s wide variety of experience — including labor & delivery, breastfeeding counseling, and rehabilitation care for patients experiencing homelessness — will make her a great addition to the Richmond team.

When asked about her approach to care, Childs Derhak said, “As a Family Nurse Practitioner, my approach to care is rooted in a belief that every patient has a unique story. It is my privilege to listen, support, and collaborate on personalized care that honors their values and experiences. I strive to offer a safe, non-judgmental space where patients can feel seen and heard, where I can foster both physical and emotional wellbeing.”

Childs Derhak joins the existing Richmond clinical team — Doctor of Podiatry, Daniel Keane; Physician Associate, Cory Miller; Family Nurse Practitioners, Andy Alexander, Monica Gambi Lado, and Melissa Hackett; Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, Theresa Rush; and Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Aga Smith.
